Good Reviews:
· The films is gripping, engaging and well shot.
· The movie is very believable, especially
characters and situations.
· Won a huge amounts of awards
· Although it is based in urban areas, the film
has strong social commentary, changing the feel and views of the films.
· Female producer making it exceptional to
understand society in a urban centred point of view.
Bad Reviews:
· The film is rather basic, using ordinary plots
to give predictable thoughts.
· The enthusiasm caused this film to be
overrated. Films such as Kidulthood tell basic storylines, but were a bigger
success in terms of entertainments.
· The low film budget limited the amount of
ideas which the director had planned to put in the movie.
· Plotting could be unconvincing, but is a minor
defect due to outstanding performances.
It is based
in East London, as the two characters are played to be as immigrants. However,
during the time of filming, the London 2011 riots occurred. This brought
changes to the movie itself giving more ideas on gang culture in hackney and
other parts of east London.
