Planning for our Scary Movie swede.

We researched a few of movies to spoof and we discussed the factors a film must contain in order to make it successful and also funny. Our aim was to create a movie that was easy to understand and watch in the cinemas. Our group decided that we wanted to spoof a comedy film. Finally we all came to a decision that we would recreate Scary Movie 1. When the project came to the actual filming we decided to get our props. We purchased plain white paper and made the scary mask by drawing it on with a black marker pen. We also used an umbrella as a hock for the villain’s hand. We done this to create a much more professional side to our swede. We then discussed how long our movie should be, we came to a joint decision that the swede should last for one minute. We had to choose which scenes out of the famous film we should use the funniest and most famous scenes in this amount of time. After this we decided to use background music in the swede so that it made a more scary effect and more entertaining to viewers.

Researching Our Swede

We all agreed that Scary Movie was very entertaining and was a movie which all four of us had seen and enjoyed. So we researched the most memorable scenes then came across this one which immediately got all four of our vote to recreate. Also we chose to recreate Scary Movie as there were hardly and recreations or swede of it on YouTube therefore that was quite encouraging.

Production, Marketing, Distribution and Exhibition.

PRODUCTION - The main stages
Film Concept

There are many stages involved when producing a film. One of the very first stages is coming up with a film concept. This is the idea or story that your film will be based around.

Script
After coming up with your film concept you will need a script. The script is the written work which includes the stroy, setting and the dialouge. It is what the cast will learn in order to be in the film
Storyboards
A sequence of rough sketches, created by the producer to communicate major changes of action or plot in a scene. The point of storyboarding is to communicate your vision of the film to a crew who will be working under your direction.

Funding
Once you’ve finished your script and storyboards, you may want to send them off to certain companies to try and get financing for you film, allowing you to hire professional equipment or people.
Presentation is very important. If you can, get an illustrator to draw some of your key storyboards.
Cast & Crew

Cast & crew are absolutely vital if you are to make your film successfully. You must devote a lot of time towards finding the right actor for your role. The actors that are featured in the film are important as bad actors usually result in a bad film

Locations
Certain locations will give a certain feel to a particular scene in the movie. Locations are very important as they are used throughout the movie and if used they make the movie seem more relaistic

Equipment
When filming your film you will have to think about what cameras will be used. Also you will have to think of things such as lighting. Different lighting effects can be used for the different moods throughout the film.

MARKETING

The main way of giving a film publicity is through a movie trailer. Trailers are often shown on TV or at a cinema. This is such a popular type of marketing as its something you cant miss if your at home watching the TV or waiting for a film to start in the cinema

Another way to market films is through posters. The poster may show the main character often this may be someone very famous to entice a certain audience. Certain actors maybe used to attract certain audiences. For example if Jackie Chan or Daniel Craig star in a movie, people who like action films may go to watch the film

The actors who star in the movie may come on TV nad be interviewed. During the interview they may talk about what the film is about and a clip may be shown on the show. This can entice people at home and make them want to go out and watch the film.

EXHIBITION

There are many different ways to view a film nowadays. One is of course at the cinema. Many people enjoy the cinema experience as you get to view the film on a big screen with very loud sound. Also when going to the cinema people are more likely to go in a group of friends and enjoy the movie with them.

However if you miss a movie you can always buy it later on DVD. Many people enjoy watching films at home and also it is always rhere so they can watch it any time they want to.

There are also sites where you can watch films online. However many of these sites allow users to watch films for free and may be illegal. Many people say this is wrong as it could be the end for film and cinema as less people will pay to watch films

Production Distribution and Exhibition

Production
Stages of film making vary on many things if the movies is in the genre of animation it would most probably take longer than a movie with actual actors. You would have to consider 2D drawings to 3D animations. Whereas doing a film with real people you don't have to don't have to work on half those things listed above. In movies you have to look at the script writing gathering resources etc.
First stages of the film should be the storyline needing something to focus on .After writing your script story boards should be made without missing any details of the story. Next should be looking for actors and camera crews, location. The list goes on as for a film to be high quality at the end it takes a lot of time and energy.

Distribution
You have to be able to find an audience which could be a hard task because of not knowing how they will react. This is the stage were most film making are rewarded .Normally the film is completed then sent to a studio .The studio then makes licensed agreement with a distributing company, and the amount of copies of the film is decided. the distributing company has to show the movie to buyers representing theatres et.The buyer and distribution companies agree on which movies to lease. The movie gets sent to he theatres/cinemas where people can watch it.

Marketing
Many movies can be successful just because of their titles.A lot of movies are also successful because of the online campaigns. Many things can be done, adverts, websites, games  etc to improve a movie's popularity.

Exhibition
Now the cinema is not the only way to watch a movie .There are now deals online e.g. Netflix. More offers are now available for us viewers e.g Orange Wednesdays, so that gives the public encouragement to watch a movie knowing they are getting a discount somehow.
